RE:ACT's Inaugural Thanking Day

Friday 5th December was a very special day for the team at REACT headquarters as we undertook our first-ever Thanking Day.

None of REACT's humanitarian work would be possible without our incredible supporters volunteering their time and making donations, so we wanted to reach out and tell our supporters how much we appreciate them. Set against a backdrop of festive tunes, tinsel, and Christmas hats and jumpers, REACT staff took great delight in contacting as many of our 2022 supporters as possible. Some supporters received personal phone calls of thanks whilst others were sent Christmas cards with handwritten and heartfelt words of thanks from the HQ team.

Jade Rolph, REACT’s Director of Fundraising and Partnerships, said 

"We want to make sure our supporters know how much they mean to us, but in the past we haven't always been great at saying thank you. When we’re responding to a disaster and it's all hands on deck, it's easy to forget those two small words. 

Saying thanks to our supporters is something we're keen to be better at, and that's why all of the HQ team are reaching out today to thank as many of our 2022 supporters as possible. It's been great fun talking to so many people who are passionate about humanitarianism and REACT's work; it's really spread the Christmas cheer! Thank you to the whole REACT crew out there."

Bridgette Jones, Chief Financial Officer at REACT, said 

“It is always a pleasure to account for the donations REACT receives as it shows that donors believe in our charitable objectives. However I don’t often get to speak to those making the gifts, therefore it was great to be part of our Thanking Day and do this with my colleagues."

As we head into 2023 we continue to think about how to ensure our supporters understand the impact they make and how crucial and appreciated they are. As part of this, we’re planning to make Thanking Day an annual event.
