Our teams are helping communities rebuild and recover after the storm, and with your support we can double our impact.

After two weeks on the ground in Jamaica, REACT’s first wave of volunteer Responders has returned home, while our second deployment continues delivering life-saving aid to those hardest hit by Hurricane Melissa.

The first teams worked alongside the Jamaica Defence Force, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and US military assistance teams to move critical relief supplies across the island. From coordinating helicopter drops to offloading cargo at Kingston Port and airport, they’ve helped ensure that essential food, water and shelter reach families in urgent need.

Now into the third week of our response, a new REACT team is operating in Jamaica’s western districts, extending aid to isolated communities and supporting national coordination through the main Response Centre.

This work is part of our Stand-by Partnership Agreement with WFP, enabling REACT volunteers to deploy rapidly wherever communities need us most.

"As these outstanding volunteers return to their jobs and their families, our work in Jamaica’s western districts continues. REACT is continuing to work through our stand-by partnership agreement with the UN World Food Programme, helping distribute aid to people who need it most" - Toby Wicks, Chief Executive

Thanks to your donations, REACT has already supported more than 17,000 people across the island. With your help, we can double that number in the next two weeks.
