REACT Responder Training for Military Veterans Supported by Veterans’ Foundation

REACT is honoured to announce a partnership with the Veterans’ Foundation through a remarkable donation of £20,000, to be used in the recruitment and training of military veterans. Their generous support recognises a shared mission to provide a better life for armed forces veterans and their families.

The Veterans’ Foundation is one of the country’s fastest-growing military charities and, through grant awards to a number of diverse projects, champions the causes of smaller UK charities and organisations to the tune of almost £17 million in grants since the Foundation’s inception in 2016.

REACT operates at the forefront of disaster response, turning military veterans into agile and resilient humanitarian volunteer Responders, supporting operations within the UK and internationally. The contribution from the Veterans’ Foundation will:

• Enable the recruitment of more veterans: One of REACT’s charitable objectives is about repurposing the hard-earned skills of veterans. The donation allows us to reach out to more of them.
• Investment in training: Our rigorous, scenario-based humanitarian training equips Responders to meet essential needs whilst in challenging environments.
• Preparation for future disasters: The need for rapid and effective disaster response grows as the climate changes and global challenges evolve. By targeting our recruitment and investing in the training of more veterans, we can continue to respond to more emergencies, helping even more people when they need it most.

Major General David Shaw CBE, CEO of the Veterans' Foundation, stated, “Armed forces' veterans have a unique skillset and the Veterans’ Foundation is proud to partner REACT to empower those ex-servicemen and women. This grant will enable more veteran volunteers to make a real difference at home and abroad when humanitarian disaster strikes.”
