PwC, alongside the Forces Employment Charity, hosted the event for the first time at the end of September. Over 140 serving armed forces professionals, veterans, spouses and dependents attended to find out more about returning or transitioning to civilian employment. There were also opportunities to speak to voluntary organisations like REACT, which can enhance the specialist skills and experience of armed forces professionals, utilising them as Responders in the wake of emergencies and disasters.
The event included panels on volunteering and working in a variety of roles, featuring sectors like cyber and ESG, as well as training sessions on networking, improving LinkedIn skills, and how to perform best at interviews. Attendees were also able to get free professional headshots and network with a wide variety of colleagues from across the industry.
Organised alongside REACT by PwC's Military Network, the event is part of a broader initiative to support the armed forces community in their transition to civilian life.
Military Network chair Jon Dunn said of the event: ‘We’re delighted to collaborate with the FEC to allow the armed forces community to see what transferable skills they can bring to civilian employment and to give back to volunteer organisations after their years of service’.
REACT are proud to be an Armed Forces Covenant Employer and recognised Silver Award winner for supporting those who serve.
