We are delighted to announce that REACT Disaster Response has officially joined the UK Resilience Academy as an Affiliate Member, a fitting milestone to mark our 10th anniversary.

The UK Resilience Academy, launched by the Cabinet Office, is a vital new initiative designed to strengthen the country’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. The Academy brings together government, charities, local authorities, businesses, and expert organisations to create a stronger, more coordinated national resilience capability.

As an Affiliate, REACT will contribute its experience in rapid disaster response, operational readiness, and volunteer mobilisation to help strengthen resilience across the UK. This collaboration not only recognises the professionalism and expertise built over REACT’s first decade, but also aligns closely with our mission to stand ready, whatever it takes, to support communities when they need it most.

Toby Wicks, REACT’s CEO, said:

"I’m thrilled that REACT is now officially part of the UK Resilience Academy. We are proud to put our full weight behind this national effort, working together to build a stronger, more resilient future for communities across the UK.”

Joining the UK Resilience Academy represents a new chapter for REACT: deepening our partnerships, expanding our reach, and ensuring we are ready to meet the challenges of the next decade and beyond.

We look forward to collaborating with our fellow Affiliates and Academy Members to support communities across the UK, building resilience together.

Mary Jones, Resilience Director and Head of Resilience at the Cabinet Office, said:

“Fostering collaboration across our wider resilience community is a guiding principle of the new UK Resilience Academy. Bringing people and organisations together to learn and share knowledge, by providing an environment that removes barriers and enhances communication between government, people, agencies, organisations, local authorities and corporations. I am grateful for your support and enthusiasm to strengthen our partnership through this affiliation.”
