Earlier this month, REACT Disaster Response proudly hosted a UK Operations course in the picturesque surroundings of Sedburgh School in Cumbria. The training took place in an exceptional location, nestled in the Lake District, which provided an ideal environment for rigorous and realistic training.
Over two intense days, course participants are thoroughly tested in several scenarios designed to mirror real-world disaster situations. The course, which follows a comprehensive online learning and assessment phase, is a critical step for our new Responders, many of whom have already shown some dedication in supporting their local communities.
The UK Operations course is grounded in REACT’s core values and behaviours, ensuring that every Responder is equipped with a consistent understanding of our operational procedures. This foundation is crucial for maintaining the high standards of response that REACT is known for, particularly when the call for assistance comes from crisis-affected populations across the UK.
By the end of the course, our new Responders have honed their abilities and are better prepared to deploy efficiently and effectively throughout the UK when disasters strike, a testament to REACT's commitment to building resilient teams capable of providing rapid and reliable disaster response services throughout the UK.
As we continue to expand our operations, the success of this initial course marks a significant milestone in our mission to support communities in need. We look forward to furthering our efforts and ensuring that every REACT Responder is ready to make a difference when it matters most.
