Afghanistan Earthquake: Sep 01 2025

A powerful earthquake has struck Afghanistan, leaving families without homes, water and essential supplies. REACT is monitoring the situation closely and preparing our highly trained volunteer Responders to deploy when needed. Every crisis like this reinforces why we must maintain a strong, agile response capability, ready to act at pace wherever the need is greatest.

Our response to global crises

Donations to REACT do not fund one disaster alone. Instead, they build and sustain our capability: the people, the training, and the specialist equipment that allow us to deploy within hours of a humanitarian emergency. By giving today, you make it possible for our Response Teams to act when disaster strikes in Afghanistan and beyond.

Our track record in earthquakes

  • In Myanmar, REACT deployed to support communities devastated by an earthquake, rapidly assessing needs and delivering assistance to the hard-to-reach communities.

  • In Morocco, our Responders worked alongside local partners after the earthquake in 2023, helping stabilise critical infrastructure and provide relief in remote areas.

  • In Türkiye, REACT Response Teams mobilised within 72 hours, supporting communities overwhelmed by the scale of the disaster.
